Bangladesh lags behind in cybersecurity index

Bangladesh has lagged behind the global cybersecurity index compiled by the National Cyber Security Index (NCSI), a UK-based organization. In the list after 65th, Bangladesh ranks 67th to 68th in the index. The index was compiled by the NCSI, which assesses the countries' preparedness for basic cyber attacks and their efforts in combatting cyber incidents, cyber crimes and major crisis management. According to the index published on the NCSI website, Greece is in the first position with a score of 96.10. The Czech Republic and Estonia came second and third with scores of 92.21 and 90.91 respectively. With a score of 44.16 in the index, Bangladesh is ahead of all countries in South Asia except India. India ranks 37th with a score of 59.74. In this region, Pakistan is ranked 70th with a score of 42.86 and China is ranked 83rd with a score of 35.06. Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan scored 28.57, 44.16 and 18.18 respectively and secured 98th, 69th and 116th positions respectively.
